Spanish red wine, the so-called “Vino Tinto”, is one of the best worldwide. Besides the extensive vineyards on the mainland, Mallorca also contributes to the diversity of Spanish red wines. Here on Mallorca you find optimal conditions to cultivate red grapes. Spanish grapes, which are considered to be particularly plum and delicious, benefit form the optimum conditions of the island:
Lots of sun
Especially the autochthonous vine varieties are adapted to the climate. That is why the Bodega Biniagual presses wine from Spanish red vines. For the production, as with all wines from the Biniagual bodega, we only use grapes from our own vineyards, which surround the winery and the village. That way we ensure the high quality of our wine.
Spanish red wine often is labeled with the designation D.O, which stands for Denominación de Origen. D.O is known for the origin of the most famous and classic Spanish wines and is a sign of quality, since wines have to pass strict quality controls to get this label. The Bodega Biniagual also is D.O classified and is part of the D.O of Bianissalem, the first D.O of Mallorca.
